Made a Buffalo version since that’s my city. It was quite a bit less complicated than the Chicago one. XD
Happy Birthday sir! You are a huge inspiration and deserve to have a wonderful day!
I became a Fall Out Boy fan 5 years ago through a weird incident where my mom somehow got Infinity On High accidentally and my siblings and I decided to listen to it. I had heard FOB before on the radio and because one of my friends was into them, and thought they were good but had never bothered to look into them more. My sister and I loved IOH so much we both started listening to it nonstop. It wasn’t long before we had all the albums.
I saw FOB in concert on the Blink tour. The venue was a massive one and my ticket was for the grass behind the seats, extremely far from the stage. While FOB played, a couple of my friends and I managed to sneak past security and all the way up to the seating area right behind the pit. I was able to watch a couple glorious songs from that spot before security came around checking tickets and we ran for it. We watched the rest of the show from a couple sections further back. I’m not sure why but the thing I remember most was when they played Grand Theft Autumn. I was singing along at the top of my lungs and even in that massive venue, really far from the stage, I didn’t care who was around me. It was just about the music.
I’m not sure when they became one of my favorite bands, but it happened somewhere along the way. And while Patrick Stump had been one of my favorite singers, it was only after he released Soul Punk and I saw him in concert that he became my absolute favorite.
Honestly I wasn’t sure how I felt about Patrick’s solo stuff right away. I had downloaded it a while before the Panic! concert, because I wanted to know it for the show. I tried listening to it a little but couldn’t really get that into it. For the hour and a half long bus ride to the concert I made a playlist of Panic! and Patrick. At first I was skipping through some of Patrick’s songs, but about halfway I realized I was starting to skip through the Panic! songs to get to Patrick’s. By the time the bus arrived I was in love with Run Dry, Cryptozoology, Coast, Spotlight, and This City (which appropriately came on just as we were driving into Buffalo).
But the thing that really made me fall in love with Patrick and his music was watching him perform it. The energy of his performance was amazing and you could tell how much he enjoyed it. The fun that he was clearly having on stage translated to the audience and it was amazing. After the show I was able to meet him outside behind the venue. He talked to the group I was hanging out with for at least 15 minutes. When we told him we liked Soul Punk he thanked us for “giving it a chance”. We talked about Fall Out Boy’s last concert in Buffalo (the one I went to) and the similarities between Buffalo and Chicago and a lot of things. He was the friendliest “celebrity” I had ever met, and really one of the nicest people in general.
Since then his music has helped me through a lot. The song “Coast” always seems to start playing exactly when I need it. Everything Patrick does inspires me. The amount of talent he has is amazing. Listening to Fall Out Boy now is like listening to a whole new band.
I hate knowing the things people did and said to Patrick, people who call themselves fans. I hate how much it got to him. I love seeing the guest writing and acting he’s doing now, but I really hope he returns to performing and continues his solo project. It just seems like a waste for someone with so much talent to not be doing something they clearly love because of a few jerks who can’t stand not getting what they want. As for Fall Out Boy, I’d love to see them return someday as much as anyone. But if they never do I’ll understand.
This wound up being extremely long but basically I just want to thank Patrick for being such a huge inspiration to so many people. Whether they know it or not, the world is lucky to have such a talented, kind, and amazing person. Thank you, Patrick, and happy birthday.
Holy crap. Something I made has almost 3000 notes. O.O

Via With A Little Bit More Character For Show
In honor of the 5th anniversary of Fall Out Boy’s Infinity On High (as pavlovelullaby reminded me), I made this, based on the quote from which the album’s title was taken.

Day 2 - eyes
Pictures of my own eyes weren’t turning out for some reason, so here are the eyes of various FBR artists, both past and present.
It’s kinda creepy…
